A Tangled Web We Spin

Updated on December 28, 2016

There For Everyone To See

Each day builds on the one before

Our little mark on the world

Not always sure where it will lead

Building confidence and practicing our independence

As we stretch and reach for the sky

Startling new discoveries mixed with our old routine

All our energy funneled into our deepest desires

To propel us forward

Avoiding any deep setbacks

Occasional hiccups keep us puzzled

Pumping up our resources

To give us the strength and power to succeed

Seeing clear into our unconscious

Making today promising even with such a small beginning

The past reflects the tracks we have carefully set

The future can not be counted like numbers in succession

It is more like vowels that can sounded again and again

Even though spelled the same

They can sound different every time

Depending on where and when they are used

The best is yet to come

Living in our own circle

Finding out we are one bubble of many floating in the air

Vocalcoach I try to remember the good in everyone and everything. This way I have plenty to talk about. I love when people talk about their parents and the joy they bring to any moment. I am honored to think he would love my writing. I hope I can just make people laugh or think of something else when they are having a bad day. I always admired a comedian who told a joke and everyone laughs. The jokes I loved the most are the ones that don't insult anyone just poke fun at life and the funny things we do. Wishing you and your family a very healthy and happy New Year. I love to look back at 2016 and hope I learned a lot and have a lot of good times to make this year even better. To often we remember the saddest and most difficult times and forget how great it is we made it through. The reason for all my successes are the people like you that make each day wonderful. I am so happy to share so many thoughts and ideas. I think this year will be amazing. Filled with so many exciting and fantastic times are jaws will hurt from laughing so much.

My daddy used to say, "Nothimg is good or bad. It's thinking that makes it so." He was a wise man. He would have loved your writing as much as I do.

      Happy new year my friend.

Shanmarie It took me along time to even consider typing on the computer. I would say to myself this is where I feel most comfortable. I can see my progress in front of me. I might want to use one of my rough drafts for something else. Then after I tried the computer I was hooked. Time to time I will go back to pen or even pencil. Newer is better.I have to face the facts. I was stubborn for a long time. I was set in my ways. Then again I was writing for myself and never would of had one story or poem read by anyone. Now I am thrilled to have you read my words almost instantly when I write. How wonderful is that. Thank you again for reading and sharing. The snow may cover the ground but the beauty shines deep.

I can't eliminate a rough draft with most of what I do. LOL. I guess I don't like change. Or maybe I just like to see the changes until I am closer to satisfied.

Shanmarie When I sit down I use to let my pen do the talking. Then years later I would type on an old typewriter and see what words emerged. Usually after many rough drafts I would have something that transformed into a better piece. Now with the ease of computers we let our fingers type away. Rough drafts are totally eliminated. Thank you for spending the time to check on me. May your thoughts grow and split into hundreds of wonderful ways to enjoy all you love. Have a pleasant night.

Well, you often pick others up so glad I could help return the favor. I know what you mean about not feeling like writing sometimes. I rarely sit down with intent to write a poem. They usually just come to me and then I either finish it right then or wrote down the part that came to me to finish the idea later. It seems I'm always working on something lately, but I hadn't finished a poem in awhile. My focus has been on a ton of other things. I barely know what I'm doing. Today, I've been working on one that came to me a week or two ago, but I hadn't fleshed it out or made it say exactly what I wanted the way I wanted. Now, as I work on it, I find that it's changing shape somewhat. Actually a little longer than I intended and saying a little more than I intended. It's like an onion to me now. LOL. Like seeing different layers to it, various ways others might interpret it.

Shanmarie It is funny because I haven't written anything lately I was thinking maybe I can't write no more. For the past week I wasn't in the mood or found no desire. Then as I sat down and words started to flow. I watched my poem develop and take shape.I appreciate that you really liked this poem because I needed a pick me up. So sending you a thank you that brings smiles after smiles. Life is full of surprises. People are filled with love. Put the both together we have a life that keeps changing and people that make those changes more beautiful than the day before. Have a great day.

Michael-Milec A new morning light shines through the glass pane window. I will move forward and take all the steps neccessary to continue trying. Today it is snowing and later turning to freezing rain. We had to cancel plans with friends so we all could be safe. It is not worth going out to eat where we could get in a car accident. All things happen for a reason. When we drive to work because we have to that's a different story. So I decided to do some laundry and clean the kitchen. My wife made a banana bread. Home together helping each other. Thank you for reading and caring. Even though much of what we do every day doesn't change our thoughts do. It's our thoughts that make us feel loved and appreciated. Have a great day.

Enigmatic, circling for days, years, contemplating; "not always sure where it will lead." Tired, sometimes tired toward the end of hope, but hoping in "the best is yet to come," tending toward - irrevocable eternity...
