A Time To Relax

Updated on October 7, 2013

In Body And Mind

I consider it my biggest challenge of all

Like trying to catch your breath after a run

It is not easy but it can be done

To slow down and see what you can do right at this very moment

Not making a plan for the future

Not even one of my famous lists

Add some form of relaxation to every day

If you can't find ways now you never will

I have learned to sit quietly for a minute before I type

Then I make it a habit to close my eyes and put my thoughts to rest

Some day it will be much longer than that

But it's a good start

I even find times I doze off in the sitting position

When I return I yearn for life and all things wonderful

janshares There are times that we go non stop but when I get the chance I rest when I can. You would surprised what a little cat nap will do. Have a wonderful day.

I love this one. I don't always follow my own message, to take a moment and relax. My plate is so full. Thanks for the inspirational advice. Voted up, useful, and beautiful.

Eiddwen I just came back from a two week vacation. The first time in my life.I had mixed feelings. In the past I felt work couldn't survive without me.Boy I couldn't be more wrong. Sometimes in life we get silly ideas in our head from God knows where and we believe them as if they are the law.Reluctantly I went on vacation and have gone two weeks without HubPages.I am suffering from withdrawl and have to go to the nearest rehab.Instead I took the easier route opening up the laptop and diving back into writing again. First commenting on peoples thoughts and kindness. Then see if I have lost my way or if I bounce back.ocfireflies That's what I did but for two weeks straight. It was great but I am probably the only person to welcome work with open arms and a big huge smile.Gypsy Rose Lee I think your right. Well I will let you know.I have had plenty of rest and now I am in inspiration corner.Hmmmmm I wonder what will happen next.Gypsy Rose Lee It might take a day or two to get back in the swing.(lol)Dim Flaxenwick Are you sure?My writings have been known to work faster than sleeping pills. You might want to read another story but I am warning you get a pillow ready. Thanks to you all of you for making my writings so much more fun. They are better read than stacked in the corner where I have to dust them or my wife throws them out.The weekend is here.New possibilities everywhere.Enjoy the day.

Having had a really long day, I gave myself permission to take one of those breaks, and when I finally awoke from my much needed nap-thanks for knowing just what one needs.

For the first time in twenty-one months, since I joined HubPages, I took the weekend off. I didn't write, I didn't read, I didn't comment...and it felt wonderful. Now I am rested and inspired and the writing shall commence. Loved your thoughts here.

      blessings my friend

Dream On Voted up and useful. Sometimes I feel like a pogo stick, bouncing round and round from one thing to another with zero accomplished. I hate it when I get wound up like that! As you stated in this great, insightful hub, to sit quietly and put your thoughts to rest can really calm the mind. I read in the Bible yesterday where Jesus said He is the Vine, I am the branch...I am ATTACHED...I need to let the Vine perform through me, the branch...without MY help! THANK YOU for sharing this. God bless, Sparklea :)
