A Vignette of Imagination: Hoplessness

Updated on May 31, 2011

Sunshine and torturous thoughts leave her in a melancholy mood.  So much beauty openly spread around her, yet a swarm of darkness eats away at her thoughts.  Free and beautiful run through her psyche alongside destructive and alone.

Why would anyone even bother?

Love is the most of it, but even just the bits of attention she pines for make her intolerable.  Her actions display lack of concern yet, she can see the suffering she causes.  How is it possible to overcome such a monster within?

The only comforting embrace, the only piece of affection to sooth her, is the warm kiss of the breeze's gentle lips on her skin.
