Warrior Poems: The Greater Good

Updated on June 16, 2013

Blade in hand

They dance the dance

Of Old Knight

Sir Galahad.

Championing a cause

That’s all but lost,

Achieving victory

At all cost.

Glory in death,

Immortalized in name,

Allowing common men,

To spread their fame.

This is the life,

A warrior must live.

For the greater good

His life he must give.

The wretched and weak

Are in his care.

To those that would do evil,

Beware

A warrior’s love

Is in his sword

Cleaving hearts

Harbingers of Discord

Dare cross his blade

Remember his name

For your blood will spill

And your life will fade

This is the life

A warrior must live

For the greater good

His life he must give.

The music spoke to me, and these were the words. I think this poetry challenge is a good one.

Life of a warrior, dangerous and sad,

Living in memories of lovers they had.
