Owl In The Snow

Updated on July 25, 2016

A Birds Eye View

From a birds eye view

Life is funny

Yet so strange

As I sit in a tree and watch,

those around me play

I have grown old in my day

As I smile and watch the others laugh and play

LIfe is funny

Yet so strange

I wish I could tell others what lessons to learn

What games not to play

As I sit on a cold branch

In mid winters day

The frost on the trees, the nip in the air

Reminds me that I am alive and God is near

From a birds eye view

Life is so funny

Yet so strange

Amazed and bewildered

By Gods grace

I smile and remind myself that

I am not the only bird in this place

An owl, a pigeon, a blue jay

Doesn't matter what the breed

Just that we are all together

On a spinning planet of greed

From a birds eye view

Life is so funny

Yet so strange

I have grown old in my day

How do I tell the others

That time is to be cherished and not waisted away

It is easy to take for granted

Those things that are planted

From a a seed

After all it is survival we seek

From a birds eye view

Life is so funny

Yet so strange

Its all about not giving up

And staying in the game

Thank you whonunwho for your kind words.

The owls are amazing birds I agree. They are not only wise but intuitive as well.Infact, I have read , that we each have an animal spirit guide. And if this is to be true, I would have to say that the owl would be my guide in this way.

Thank you Jeff:) Yes, it is easy to take life for granted until one has walked a million miles to learn that life is precious. The white owl is one of my favorite animals/bird that I admire.

Owls are my favorite wild bird. The native people revered the owl and regarded it as a holy creature and teller of the future. The owl has been seen even in Egyptian times on walls. Of all the birds, owls seem to be the most intelligent. They are the essence of the wild and beautiful. Thank you for your nice work and well received.
