Committing
One for the morning,
To look forward to the day,
to make plans,
to gain strength,
And to smile in her beautiful youth.
One for the noon,
when the heat amounts
and the gloom abounds,
while the battle wages to and fro;
to retreat to and covet throughout.
One for the evening
to watch the sun set
and relive the struggles;
laughing at gains, crying at losses
to grow weary with, and remember.
One for the night
as play fades to sleep
and traded secrets are to dust
when only memory lingers
to those who knew.
