A poem, Happiness found in my foyer tree
Beautiful Babies that filled me with glee
I'm so excited, I just want to shout
I have Baby Birds in a nest
I must tell you how it all came about
I moved my foyer tree out on my patio when the weather started to turn warm
The next thing i knew
A Bird's nest started to form
At first I thought, " Oh my beautiful tree "
Then i felt ashamed
Thoughts of "Babies" Filled me with glee
Everyday I watched Mama build, looking so proud
Anticipation mounting
I found myself joyfully laughing out-loud
First there was one egg, then two, then three, then four
Sadly one morning one was lost
Found splattered all over the floor
The wind had blown, The nest only hanging by a thin thread
I quickly secured it
With a string tied overhead
So i had three bluish green eggs left in the nest
I watched them like an Eagle
Some might say, " I was somewhat obsessed "
One day i looked to see the eggs once more
Little did i guess
What was waiting in store?
One little fuzzy Baby, oh so very cute!
Anxiously waiting
For another to follow suit
I now have three Babies begging for food
Keeping Mama busy
Taking exceptional care of her adorable brood
Soon my heart tells me, " They will all fly away "
I know i will miss them
Each and every day
They brought me so much happiness, and i know one thing for sure
The tree will stay on my patio
Waiting for another Mama needing a home that's warm and secure.
