A scrapbook of the President's "First"s magazine covers
In case you haven't seen it Newsweek recently honored President Obama with a special cover praising him as The First Gay President. Although this sounds just a bit confusing -in so far as Mr. Obama is not gay- I do believe Newsweek's salute to the President stems from his recent coming out in favor of gay marriage. Doubtlessly, even with such a vitally important issue as this, the acknowledgement and kudos wouldn't be so prestigious had they come from a lesser-known magazine. But whoa, this is NEWSWEEK here! And my that is IMPRESSIVE indeed. Congrats Mr. Obama!
Of course, under the shadow of this tremendous tribute we should not forget Mr. Obama's other magazine cover credits. His every accomplishment and triumph has been covered and noted at one time or another in the print media, but it is easy to forget these things when a high-profile mag like Newsweek takes center stage. In fact, Mr. Obama is still bringing in the honors for his trend-setting First accomplishments in national print. As hard as it is to believe, however, some of these Firsts haven't got the coverage like the Newsweek spread. So in case you missed out here are a few First mag covers from the LOVE THAT OBAMA mag covers scrapbook!
And from the comic book world - the President's FIRST step into the realm of almost-too-braggy-to-be-believable mythical hero was celebrated, too!
