A well inside of me - a poem
This poem was inspired by Deborah Brooks poem of love to her sons. As I read the poem and wrote a comment I was inspired to write this. Debbie I love your poetry and I am glad that one of your poems inspired me to do this today.
Love is a never ending, ever interesting and unending source of joy. For me to love is to be me, to be free of all that is not love. I honestly do not want to have anything to do with hate, indifference, grudge or rancor. Life is beautiful when I look at it with eyes of love and love alone. I refuse to think negatively or contemplate on anything that is not positive. I am happiest when I can share my love.... and this is my love offering for today..
A well inside of me .....
There is a well inside of me,
brimming with love, so patiently,
sometimes still, it quietly waits,
for an opportune time and place.
In quietness and peace,
it does not cease,
but spreads all around and grows,
until it can hold no more, then it overflows!
In pain it does calmly hold,
the negative thoughts away,
It wishes well and never spells,
doubts or disaster any day!
It doesn't matter who comes or goes,
my love is here to stay,
to them that open up, it flows,
and surrounds them in everyway!
The well inside never dries,
even as time quickly flies,
friends or foes, it doesn’t care,
It is every ready to share!
A fool I may be, for all to see,
To love is to be free,
from malice and vanity,
from hurt and insanity!
To love, is to be me,
and give with my heart so full and free,
of the warmth within my being,
unconditional and never ceasing!
It rarely seems like hate or strife,
finds a place in my life,
“I love you always” is what I say,
meaning it in every way!
Your actions are yours alone,
it has no bearing on me,
All I have known, is to love alone,
So I could really be me!
