A SURFER'S DELIGHT BY b. Malin

AFTER THE STORM, ON AN OCTOBER MORN, THE CLOUDS ARE STILL HIGH IN THE SKY... THEY ARE DARK, THEY ARE GRAY, JUST LIKE THE DAY, HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.

BUT WAIT, NOT FOR LONG. FOR AS "LOVER MAN" AND I STROLL ALONG THE BOARDS, AND LOOK OUT AT THE ANGRY SEA....HEY CAN IT BE....WHAT DO WE SEE? HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.

SURFERS IN THE WAVES! THOSE LARGE LUXURIOUS WAVES, CARESSING THEM OH SO TENDERLY. AS A MOTHER WOULD, LOOKING OUT FOR HER BREW....HER SURFER BREW! SHE GIVES THEM THE WAVES, THAT ONLY SHE CAN PRODUCE, AFTER THE STORM....THAT WHIRLWIND OF A STORM, HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.

WE COUNT NOT JUST ONE OR TWO, OH NO, AT LEAST THIRTY BOARDS BOBBING UP AND DOWN AS THE WAVES COME CRASHING AROUND....FOAM SPRAYING THEIR HAPPY FACES, HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.

I TELL LOVER MAN, THAT I ENVY THEM....THEY SEEM SO FEARLESS, SO HAPPY TO BE ENJOYING THIS GIFT OF EXTRAORDINARY WAVES THAT MOTHER NATURE HAS BESTOWED UPON THEM, HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.

THEY NEVER SEEM TO TIRE, AS THEY PUT ON QUITE A SHOW, JUST WANTING TO CATCH THE WAVES, WHICH THEY DO, OVER AND OVER AGAIN. AS THE AUDIENCE OF TWO STARTS TO GROW, AS OTHERS STOP TO LOOK AND SMILE, HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.

STAY "SAFE" SURFER FRIENDS, I SILENTLY PRAY. DO YOU SEE US CHEERING YOU ON FROM THE SHORE? WE LOOK UP TO SEE THE SUN STARTING TO PEER THROUGH THE DARK CLOUDS TO DO HER PART, TO KEEP THE SURFERS WARM....HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.

WHAT A TREAT WE HAVE JUST WITNESSED....COULD THERE BE MORE? YES, OH YES, AS WE SEE THE MONARCH BUTTERFLIES CIRCLING NEAR BY, AS THEY ALIGHT ON THE DUNE'S WILD FLOWERS....OR IS IT JUST AN EXCUSE TO WATCH THE SURFERS AND THEIR DELIGHT! HERE ON THE JERSEY SHORE.
