A Time of Life

Updated on September 3, 2013

I am nothing but a speck

being immersed in the mighty rivers.

I am only but a shadow

lurking where death doth choose

to darken the earth.

To you, I am not even a heartbeat

for I cringe and die with the coming of

the breeze.

I wish it’ll all go away so life

for me could be completely serene.

Peace I welcome

and the tide doth cease.

Well phrased and captivating...just not certain of your position or final wish? Last two lines add no clarity for me, but still have quite an impact, leaving me feeling blank. If that was the total intent or just my lack of comprehension is unclear; goes like that many times w/poetry, for me, anyway. Striking work.

Thanks for your comment. The intended feeling I wanted the reader to feel was, indeed, blankness since that is what the speaker feels in regards to his/her life. :)

Right oni-ths helped me sort things right out.
