I like this issue. Nothing important happens here, but then that's kind of the whole point to this series. Lots of comedy, and action, without worrying about continuity and consequences. The Beast and Strange story is totally nonsensical, but it has a lot of laughs and witty character moments. Strange and Beast come across as lovable, goofy, competitive freinemies. Love how they call each other "Doctor" several times, and each time comes across as condescending, even though we can't hear their tone, it's all conveyed through dialog timing and great expressive art, Jai Nitz and Greg Smallwood did a great job. Not overly memorable, but fun and enjoyable. Quick plot synopsis: Beast is called in when a Kree yoga spell freezes a yoga class in a stasis field. Dr.Stange is already there when he arrives. Hilarity ensues. Things aren't what they appear.

The second story is the 3rd part of a multi-issue story featuring Cyclops and Captain America, written by Gerry Duggan, and drawn by David Yardin. This is the first time a story has carried over in the series, and I'm happy it features Cyclops. The basic plot premise is that a Skrull who wants peace between Skrulls and humans, kidnaps Cyclops and Captain America to warn them about a group of mutant Skrulls who plan on seeking vengeance on humans. The plot is interesting, but nothing special. Just a reason to get the two disparate protagonists together. But this book isn't about plot and character growth, it's about comedy and odd couple team-ups. Cyclops and Cap are definitely an odd couple...despite how similar they are in some areas. They have totally different power sets and backgrounds, but are both considered to be the best tactical and inspiring leaders in their respective groups. They don't usually agree on their major goals, but they are both driven and talented enough to lead people to accomplish them. I enjoyed this story a lot. I can't say I am waiting with bated breath for the next chapter to see what happens, but I do look forward to it, and know I will have fun reading it. Both men come through as competent leaders and heroes, despite Cap constantly wanting to arrest Cyclops.
