Above it all - A brief poem

Updated on July 20, 2012

Above it all

Take a seat

And hang on tight

Settle in now

and enjoy the flight

Soar higher and higher

Way above the yonder

Among the clouds'

Soft tops we'll wander

Free from Earth

And from all her woes

Far above it all

And free from foes

Up and Up we go

And aloft we'll wing

Thank you Daddy

We love our swing

Hahah Will: Like short story like verse, always a catch at the end, in this case, turning a slighty banal piece into a charming surprise. And we smile, "Might have known!"

Awesome, and just as you was sharing with dex...just as you got up to top speed, it was time to bail!!

I'm not much for poetry, but I loved this one. It brought back painful memories of my only broken arm caused by flying from a swing. As I recall, the flight was exciting, but the landing was terrible.

      Morning Will.

You certainly caught me with this hub.

A well thought out poem that rhymes, the type I like, the old fashion style.

Beautiful poem, Will, though I wasn't expecting it to be a swing. Just this morning, CBS This Morning, I heard about this guy who is going to skydive from the edge of space, freefall for over 5 minutes and might even break the speed of sound.

I enjoy your poem! We all need to dream more AND LEARN THE SIMPLE

things to enjoy. Life is not recallable and we need to focus on our happiness. Some people never seem to learn! You have had a lot of bad weather this year, I pray for your safety and the people in AZ. Keep writing!

Will, 2014 was not g good year for me. A man ran a stop-sign and totaled my car. I was under the doctor's care all this time. I also traveled to LAX to my 1st cousin's funeral. He fought 2 rare types of leukemia for 3 years. I spoke to him a few days before he passed. He was a lot younger than myself. We should never give up to tragic illness or other misfortunes. I spent July in Atlanta, and as usual it's a beautiful city. The economy is booming! I will probably go again when it gets cold, and do some writing.
