Abstracts in the Museum
A visit to the museum is good for the soul
It becomes a time to absorb history's colors
Become part of the painting that is the regression of time
I am a fan of the abstracts
Not the paintings featuring haphazard brush strokes and mixed media
But the people; Yes, they are the real exhibit
Each person walking to and fro
Pausing to stare at another's vision
Men and women talk with each other
In hushed whispers as if they share some secret revelation
They nod and move on; their faces somber as if attending a funeral
The air is hushed and only the sound of rustling paper can be heard
As the visitors fold paper programs and stuff them into pockets
I wish people could see the exhibit set before me
Individual works of art; the masterpiece that is diversity
The colors of life splashed on a 3-D canvas.
