Accomplish – 52nd Word of the “Good Words” Project

Updated on June 28, 2020

What does Accomplish mean?

Undertake, Achieve, Complete, Do, Finish, Realize a dream.

Accomplish, the 52nd good word the 52nd poem, I kept my promise to Jo Grace Goldsmith to write a poem for each good word she gave us weekly to practice living by, inspiration to fellow Hubbers to be the best writers/authors/poets we can be.

To practice what we preach…..

Means, we must live by what we teach

— Shyron Shenko

What does Accomplish mean to us?

We have accomplished a Logophile’s dream. Fifty two Good Words with fifty two poems. Sometimes it did not seem possible but we kept on thinking and creating; now we have reached the 52nd word. We have reached a mile stone.

Hoover Dam - Started April 20, 1931, concrete placement in the dam was completed May 29, 1935, final accomplishment by March 1, 1936.

Accomplish

© Shyron Shenko

We have accomplished

Learning the true meaning of Good Words

And how we can put them into practice

Putting them all to use and not abuse

We find this attractive

If we can accomplish all our goals

Without stepping on someone’s toes

We can accomplish this amazing feat

By sharing the good words with those we meet

Good words are not just said

To string a sentence along

Instead

They teach us the true meaning

Of what we meant and thought we said

To accomplish this message

With each good word as a sample

We learn and grow

Teaching by example

So…hang onto every word

Practice living by the good ones that you’ve heard

Sharing, Love, and Joy and Peace

Never let the learning of "Good Words" cease

It’s only words and words are all I have to take your heart away

— Maurice, Robin and Barry Gibb

Words: The perfect song for this article

My how things change, and so fast! Here we are with the second Confederate President in charge for 3 and a half years already. I call him the 2nd Confederate President because he so admires the confederate statues of traitors and is always speaking of them and putting them on pedestals. Says they remind us of our history, yet historically they are losers and traitors, which are not something to hold in high esteem. If he would discover books, he might be amazed at how much he could learn about the statues that he can't see by looking at them.

Confederate statues not being enough to keep him busy, he's decided to turn this country into a police state and to promote fascism as much as the Republicans will allow -- they are in charge currently being the majority in the Senate, and so they could stop him, but choose not too,

If anyone wonders how Hitler accomplished all that he did with such a strong following they need only look at what Trump has done and what he continues to do to get their answer. The Nazi supporters of Hitler who enabled him were just like the Trump supporters today. They refused to see Hitler for who he really was and no doubt like Trump supporters, had heads full of ridiculous conspiracies to rationalize their obtuse ideas.

Hope you and Walter are staying well. Blessings, dear friend . . .

Right now, and for a long time really, I've been trying to get my storage space organized and cleaned up. Before that, I need to get my car organized. Every time I get all the stuff on the dashboard cleaned off, it isn't even 2 days and there's as much more there as I got rid of in the first place. I don't know where it comes from.

So I have several things I need to accomplish.

Have you read that Trump wants to round up all the homeless people and incarcerate them similarly to the illegals on the Texas border? He's such a sweetheart. How can anyone not appreciate him and all he tries to do?

Posting this excellent poem to AH & FB. Blessings, dear friend, and Merry Christmas!

Sorry to hear you have diabetes. Think I had it for several years before it was diagnosed. My biggest problem is sleep, which lack there of can contribute to diabetes. Think I never get any sleep and on the other hand, I never wake up cuz I'm so tired all the time I do everything 3/4 or more asleep. Once the heat gets here I'll be back to about an hour of sleep per night. Getting about 3-4 the last month or so.

As a result, I don't accomplish much. One day at a time. Blessings dear friend . . .

Au fait, thank you for the comment, I am in agreement with you.

I hope the weather warms up and hope that all is well with you. I have joined a grief support group and that adds to my already busy life, and just found out I am diabetic.

      Blessings my dear friend

The answer to the question I posed on my last visit is a solid NO. But at least they tried. The kids, that is. Officials did nothing as usual.

I just try to survive one day at a time and I'm afraid very little is accomplished beyond that. If I manage to just keep up, I'm doing well.

Seems these cold spells we're having at night are to last for at least a couple more weeks. Hope all is well with you, dear friend. Blessings always . . .

Au fait, I have written a response to your comment which I thank you for, but I will publish it as a hub

      because it is lengthy.

Being a care giver takes so much of my time, and I don't feel like talking to anyone right now, otherwise I would call you.

      Blessings always my dear friend.

I wonder if the kids who experienced that horrific shooting and the deaths of their friends and classmates in Parkland, FL will accomplish getting some common sense gun laws passed where their parents and the adults in this country could not?

Congress clearly works for who pays them the most. U.S. taxpayers pay them 173,000 + every year, but that's peanuts compared to what corporations and clubs like the NRA pay them, so of course they do the NRA's bidding and ignore tax payers. We need to get everyone who accepts money from outside their paychecks out of office and then make it a felony to accept campaign, or PAC contributions, or more accurately, bribes from special interests. Wonder how Ryan, Pence, Trump, McConnell & Co., would feel to watch someone gun down their children?

There's more than one school shooting daily somewhere in the U.S. It's only considered a mass shooting if 4 or more people are injured or killed. It's become so common place that it's not even news anymore. Kids too young to vote or drink alcohol are able to legally obtain semi-automatic weapons.

Anyone who feels such a great need to own semi-automatic weapons and an arsenal of guns to begin with must be paranoid, and paranoid to that extent is mentally ill. I don't think anyone who is mentally ill should be allowed access by any means to guns or semi-automatic weapons.

Trump made it easy for mentally ill people to obtain guns and I just wonder if he's ever had to face a mentally ill person who is really angry or having an episode due to their illness that makes them violent.

It's not the fault of the mentally ill that they are the way they are, but that doesn't undo the damage they sometimes do as a result of not being able to manage their feelings or inclinations. They should never have access to a gun, and Trump practically gives them a ride to the gun shop and finances the weapon for them if need be. Shame on Republicans for not wanting children to be safe. Nothing has more importance to them than their money god.

Hope you and John are getting through this cold spell we're having OK. Almost froze my car doors shut Wednesday. Car was a little hesitant to start too, but hopefully the worst of it is over now. Blessings to you both dear friend. Take care . . .

Au fait, thank you for the comment, I do appreciate you so very much. I hope you did not get the rain like we got in Coppell about 5:00pm. When we arrived home it did not seem that it had rained that hard here at home....

Hope all is well with you and you are warm and dry.

Blessings and hugs to you also.

Here it is the middle of January and I haven't accomplished anything much! Did have the car looked at yesterday and I guess that's a step in the right direction.

Just afraid we're going to go fro frigid and maybe an ice storm before it's over straight to an early summer in February. :((

What a mess we have in our government, eh? Never thought I'd miss Dubya, but at least there was something left to rebuild when he left. Not sure there will be anything after Trump. We may all be speaking Russian by the end of the summer!

Just revisiting this excellent poem. Maybe it will get me started accomplishing something . . .

Blessings and hugs dear friend . . .

Au fait, not finished with cutting the blasted grass in the blazing heat. I think I cooked my eye balls, yesterday, the town wants all overhanging branches cut up to 14 feet. Thank God for our neighbor and his 10' ladder but I got saw dust in my eyes and one limb slammed into my face.

I thank you for the comment, compliment and for sharing.

Hope all is well with you and Blessings and hugs to you also my dear friend.

Came back to share this excellent poem again.

Gets harder and harder to accomplish anything. This computer is slower than a snail. Since I have to rely on public Internet service at the library it's probably full of viruses. Hardly works at all tonight.

Thankfully we didn't get much rain today, but still had the benefit of clouds most of the day. Hope all's well with you. Blessings dear friend . . .

Au fait, thank you for the complement and comment.

Yes I love Barry Gibb singing and the song "Words" is one of my favorite.

You never really get caught up on sleep. I still did not make it to bed after we talked today.

I know it is a crying shame that the mayor and out town is so corrupt.

      Hope you are well

I need all the blessings I can get.

Blessings and hugs to you also.

Just noticed you have Barry Gibb singing one of his songs that I like so much. I listen to the BeeGees practically everyday. Do you know they're right up there with the Beatles for popularity and success writing music? A shame so many died so young.

Hope I can accomplish something now that temps seem to be falling a little. Once I get caught up with my sleep, if that is even possible, I have a long list.

Hope you and John are taking it a little easy. I know you have things you want to do, and now you have that new problem with the city government with the council trying to oust your guy. They had no luck in Lake Dallas and I think you could use the same strategy. Surprised given the outcome in LD that your city is even attempting pretty much the same thing.

Hope everything is as good as it can be. Still more blessings (Can a person have too many? Of course not.) and hugs. Take care . . .

Can't say that I've accomplished very much for quite a while. Not being able to point to anything that's really made/making a difference that I have done is not a help.

Hope all is well with you and John. A slight reprieve in the heat, but very slight, and it's so humid it feels much hotter anyway. Hope you are taking care of yourself dear friend. Who will be there if you aren't?
