We Rejoice in Oneness

Bees and birds gather pollen, rivers flow on earth's bosom,

The Sun sends his rays ,we are food, sand and the light.

Oceans paint all clouds, mountains ooze glaciers,

Trees rain luscious fruits,we are taste, water and fire.

Winds pat guys and things, the lightening dazzles fast,

Water dilutes everything,we are udders and milk too.

Humanity is too tiny a goal, mutual love is also vague,

We are earth, water sky, dust, leaves and all fossil.

Nothing comes from nowhere, nothing goes to anywhere,

All appear and perish here , to reveal and take birth again.

All Knit together

It occurs to me sometimes that we remain confined to

our own tiny world. we feel each other as humans and also

make contact with other animate world. We love dogs, cows,

birds and other living creatures but seldom we divert our

attention to the earth on which we stand so stable, trees that

we flock to for shelter in scorching heat. Sun, Moon, Sky, Stones,

Shrubs, Rivers, Seas and there are innumerable inanimate things

that without which we cannot sustain ourselves. We are all knitted in

a great universal unity, and diversity is, in fact, an illusion. We must

feel and live this lovely oneness and set us free from all prejudices. This

hub is all about oneness.

We Rejoice in Oneness

We are not one, two or some that we love,

Everything replicates and longs for oneness.

When we sit on rocks and embrace trees,

feel the touch of winds,we kiss our own kin.

Rocks are our skin, birds are our own songs,

Winds our feelings,we are space and the sky.

Plants, birds, animals, we take turns to mingle together,

Perish to be something else,we are soil; we are the earth.

Michelle, I never read poetry of this outstanding poet, David Whyte. I just read his poem " what to remember when waking ". I loved reading that wonderful poem. I'm delighted and honored to be linked to such a great poet through this hub. How generous and kind you are while commenting on this poem ! It's like a treasure. Thank you very much, my friend.

Beautiful! I especially like the imagery of 'We are kissing our own kin /

The Rocks are our skins' and the reminder that 'Humanity is too tiny a goal'...

Makes me think of David Whyte's poem 'What to Remember When Waking' and this amazing line: 'What you can plan is too small for you to live.'
