Elephants Fly!

Updated on July 29, 2015

ABC poems are not just for babies!

The abcedarian is a poem in which one tries to use all of the letters of the alphabet as the starting place for writing a poem. Try writing an abcedarian using only one word per the letters of the alphabet.

Alphabet

Babies

Cuddle Cats,

Dogs and Dinosaurs.

Elephants

Fly!

Guitars grateful they're not dead.

Heaven

IS IN

Just about every

Kool-Aid Kid.

Laughing!

Misty and Max say,

No!

Ouch to the facts.

Peter pans a

Quick

Ride home.

Suzy hates his

Tinkerbell tone so she gets

Under the tied-dyed

Vest

Worn by her

Xylophonic lover.

YES! She will just take her broom and

Zoom right out of his neverland.

I am just now getting around to notice this brilliant piece of work from someone I am supposedly following? Shame on me!

And wake thee up, oh Internet world!

      Max,

Smiles. Thanks for calling this little piece, "brilliant."

Your head-spinning poetry has me so disoriented that I cannot even remember what year it is. How could I comment on it in August 2011 if you did not publish the poem until April 2013 (about the time I first met you)?! Unless, of course, we have actually been communicating telepathically for some longer period of time.

      Max,

I should be shot, tied, tarred and feathered for making such a mistake.

Thank you for catching it for me.

My former students would never let me live it down.

      Kim

Perhaps we have been actually communicating telepathically for some time. : )
