~Hurtful Words can Destroy your Romance! All the King’s Men: Song Lyrics~
All the King's Men
The song is a melody that has yet to be recorded.
Ci joined her brother for another beautiful duet written by Ra-tu and Shelly Thorsberg entitled All the Kings Men. The lyrics on this song had Ra-tu lamenting in the opening that he had said cruel things to his soul-mate in a lover’s quarrel. He sat alone on the stage playing his acoustic guitar as he sang.
It was just a lover’s quarrel that started very small
And what it was about I really can’t recall
I knew I said some things that hurt you deep inside
Said many things to protect my foolish pride.
When I came to my senses tried to make you see
That I would always love you
You meant everything me.
But I knew it was over and we would go our separate way
When she said these words to me that day.
“All the Kings horse and All the Kings Men
Could not put you and me back together again.”
She said
“All the Kings horses and All the Kings Men
Could not put you and me back together again.”
“Like Humpty Dumpty who sat on a wall
You and I have had a great fall"
And now that it is over and we have gone our separate way
You and I remember the words we said that day.
Now I’ve come to my senses and I can plainly see
That I will always love you
You mean everything me.
It will never be over and we will never go our separate way
Even though I said those cruel words to you that day.
"All--all the Kings horses and All the Kings Men
Could not put you and me back together again.
All--all the Kings horses and All the Kings Men
Could not put you and me back together,
Back together again.”
I wish we could go back in time, forget the silly rhyme
That tore us apart, had broken my heart.
We said.
"All- all the Kings horses and all the king’s men
Could not put you and me back together again."
Together we can go back in time forget the foolish rhyme
That tore us apart had broken our heart.
Foolish of us to let silly words break our heart
Foolish to let foolish rhymes tear us apart.
For no matter what silly words you may rhyme
I will always love you, just you
‘Til the end of time.
‘Til the end ,until the end
Until the end of time!”
The ballad was always one of the most inspirational highlights of the concert as this beautiful song touched the hearts of all who had experienced such moments in their lives.
