All the King's Men

The song is a melody that has yet to be recorded.

Ci joined her brother for another beautiful duet written by Ra-tu and Shelly Thorsberg entitled All the Kings Men. The lyrics on this song had Ra-tu lamenting in the opening that he had said cruel things to his soul-mate in a lover’s quarrel. He sat alone on the stage playing his acoustic guitar as he sang.

It was just a lover’s quarrel that started very small

And what it was about I really can’t recall

I knew I said some things that hurt you deep inside

Said many things to protect my foolish pride.

When I came to my senses tried to make you see

That I would always love you

You meant everything me.

But I knew it was over and we would go our separate way

When she said these words to me that day.

“All the Kings horse and All the Kings Men

Could not put you and me back together again.”

She said

“All the Kings horses and All the Kings Men

Could not put you and me back together again.”

“Like Humpty Dumpty who sat on a wall

You and I have had a great fall"

And now that it is over and we have gone our separate way

You and I remember the words we said that day.

Now I’ve come to my senses and I can plainly see

That I will always love you

You mean everything me.

It will never be over and we will never go our separate way

Even though I said those cruel words to you that day.

"All--all the Kings horses and All the Kings Men

Could not put you and me back together again.

All--all the Kings horses and All the Kings Men

Could not put you and me back together,

Back together again.”

I wish we could go back in time, forget the silly rhyme

That tore us apart, had broken my heart.

We said.

"All- all the Kings horses and all the king’s men

Could not put you and me back together again."

Together we can go back in time forget the foolish rhyme

That tore us apart had broken our heart.

Foolish of us to let silly words break our heart

Foolish to let foolish rhymes tear us apart.

For no matter what silly words you may rhyme

I will always love you, just you

‘Til the end of time.

‘Til the end ,until the end

Until the end of time!”

The ballad was always one of the most inspirational highlights of the concert as this beautiful song touched the hearts of all who had experienced such moments in their lives.

I'll need to sit down and sing it for the camera one day. You have a gift. I want you to nurture it and bring it to fruition. Other songs mostly writttne many years ago are in musical form in many Hubs now and being placed here all during July.

Hi Chaunatye, Thanks for reading the HUB. I plan to place the entire album up on the internet eventually, probably later this year. Right now, I'm in the process of releasing my novels. This one is not recorded at all although I have a beautiful melody for it.

This was really amazing, and I would love to see these lyrics put to music. I tend to buy a new cd and open the case to see if there are lyrics before popping the cd in, because I have a love of poetry and enjoy anything that is as well written as this! Again kudos to this, it really was fantastic!

This ballad moves all hearts with vivid pain depicting the loss of a loved one. To find a sensitive man expressing his deep feeling in this honestly simple way is rare. Thank you for sharing this beautiful piece of literature art with us. happychoice.

Thanks Gail, for checking this out. One day I'll find someone who wil take an interest in recording the tune. Yes, "letting go" of ill feelings and moving forward is the only way to live. Only the wise know this secret that will help to live a happier life. As simple as it is, it can often take a lifetime to learn it.

Can't wait to read the novel, Seeds of Heaven. This was absolutely beautiful. The wish to take words back at times is probably universal but alas, we never can take them back.

But those who truly love forgive and move forward, ultimately wiser and even more loving than before the breach occurred.

Thanks so much for sharing this, my friend.

I've worked on this off and on for two decades and think I have it completed to my satisfaction now. The last revision as you see it here was about two years ago. Thanks for taking time to read it. You are the first to ever see it and make a comment. Merry Christmas. RJ
