Along The Grass
Funny how things come to pass
As I walk along the grass
Pondering the days to come
Where do these thoughts come from?
Thoughts of things that bring a chill
To the spine of those who will
Dare to think impossible things
Wishing they had their own wings
Thoughts of flight fill the air
Bringing about a calm despair
Looking around this life of mine
Thoughts not becoming one who is kind
Wishing to flee as the days go by
One step at a time my heart does cry
Whatever the future holds for me
Perhaps one day I will feel free
To do those things that seem impossible
Things that seem far from probable
Living in a limbo world
Wishing my flag to be unfurled
The day will come when I can stand
Alone on two feet and on dry land
Free from cares and foolishness
For this I will strive, reduce duress
But for now I sit and I do wait
For this life to create
Sending this out to the universe
In this very simple verse
When change is needed it will come
Till then my heart will gently thrum
Knowing things will come to pass
As I walk along the grass
