Angels Watching Over Me by Sarah Mackins
Angels watching over me
My life has just begun
A baby in my mother’s arms
My voice is yet unsung
Angels watching over me
Into a toddler I’ve grown
My mother’s hand I do not need
For I can walk alone
Angels watching over me
My school days now must start
My teachers' educate my brain
So that I’ll grow up smart
Angels watching over me
Teenage years oh so wild
Hormonally imbalanced
Yet inner soul so mild
Angels watching over me
An adult I am now
A love my own I want to find
But I do not know how
Angels watching over me
My soul mate I have found
A partner to protect me
A love that knows no bound
Angels watching over me
I’m now a mother and a wife
With a family of my own to love
Throughout the rest of life
Angels watching over me
My children are now gone
Grown up with families of their own
With whom they now belong
Angels watching over me
My time on earth is nigh
My soul ready for you to take
To your heaven way up high
Angels who watched over me
One favour I ask of you
As you watched over me through life
Please watch my family too
