When I was a boy, like most kids with a magnifying glass I knew how the sun and the glass could fry an ant to a crisp. Unlike the other kids I chose to observe them rather than fry them. I wondered how they worked, why they seeming wonder around looking for something that wasn't there.
Learning about them as an adult, my thinking and reasoning changed. One summer afternoon I was sitting on my front porch watching their patterns that looked random, but all were working toward a common goal that would benefit the colony.
While I was watching them I suddenly had several thoughts, like do they know what, or who I am to them, or do they even know I'm there. I wondered if they were aware of me. Did they see me as a giant, a danger, a human, perhaps they didn't even know I was there, or do they see us as God's.
There is a passage from the bible that reads, God created us in his own image. I have often wondered what exactly dose that mean. Does it mean that since we are in his image, that we are in a way God's ourselves? Probably not, but we do share traits with God. We can create life, or take life, we can build amazing structures, or destroy them, conquer the oceans, even leave Earth entirely and walk on the moon.
Sitting there looking down on the tiny ant, I looked up and saw the sky, and as night came and stars were starting to appear. I remembered there are more stars in the universe than all the grains of sand on our Earth. I started thinking how insignifant we all are, like the ants compared to the cosmos. Between the ant and the entirety the universe I thought what if like the ants we randomly go about the day scrambling to go back at the end of the day to our own colony or homes.
Thinking about this for a while, about how small even tiny we are, compared to the universe, perhaps we are so tiny that somewhere or someone is starring down at us with a magnifying glass, just like the ants. Today in present time, I sit in my box that we call homes and see ants in every room.
Do I play the God role, do I kill the one ant just to have two more show up. Possibly bait them with poison and maybe kill a hundred just to slow them to a manageable rate of control, just to see them multiply again. It seems funny to think of us being created in God's image, that if we were like God why can't I eliminate the ants. Funny that for how big we are to the tiny ant we can't find a way to get rid of them.
I guess the message I'm saying is that maybe in life even being created in God's image, or being human, with all life's struggles I feel maybe a little like the ant. Like when I was a kid sometimes I feel like the magnifying glass is on me, wondering if I will be burned up by the concentrated beams of light coming from something much larger than me, or will I just be examined having every move studied and documented, either way the end result is the same in that taking one, or one hundred there will always be more ants.

Crazy Ant's (Raspberry or Tawny). Are Invading Species And A Household Disaster.
Crazy Ant's Are So Named Because Of Their Frantic Movements And Erratic Behavior. Once In Colombia They Have Now Migrated From Mexico To Texas.
The Texan Crazy's
The crazy ant originated in South America. They are called this because of their fast and erratic movements. In 2014 we discovered they are able to defend themselves from the Texan fire ants by covering themselves with formic acid as an antidote to the fire ant's venom. Their colonies are large and have multiple queens to ensure their survival.
Since 2012 the crazy ant has traveled from South America trough all of the Gulf Coast of the United States including at least 27 counties in Southeast Texas. The crazy ant is smaller than the fire ant, and is covered in reddish brown hairs. They do not create mounds or beds. They are more likely to be found under piles, or stones. Their diets consist of small insects and vertebrates, honeydew from aphids, and also forage on plants, especially for sweet materials.
They have an impact on the environment where the live, they thrive resulting in negative affects to small poultry such as chicken, which end up dying from asphyxiation, also cattle are attacked in the eyes, nose, and hooves creating injuries to the animals. Because of their plant sucking compulsion for sugary honeydew, massive areas of grassland has dried out because of this tiny pest.
If they are not crazy enough for you yet let me tell you more about these little pest. If you get an infestation in your house it can end up in a disaster. They like to get into your electrical equipment and chew on the wires of your electronics causing them to corrode, overheat, or even complete mechanical failure. To make things worse if a crazy ant is electrocuted it will release pheromones, causing other ants to search for an attacker resulting in shorting out your systems.
It's unclear why the crazy ant is attracted to electrical equipment. Some think it could be from electric current, warmth from the heat produced from the equipment, or possibly magnetic fields that the wires produce. Possibly they are just looking for food and end up getting near your equipment, or they might be looking for a nesting site.

Black tree ant's are identified by their dull black color of the head and body. They also usually have white or yellowish hairs on their abdomen. All level of this species can be defined by these features, including their queen.
Black ants are more active at night, trying to find food and following trails, they are known to search for food for up to 100 yards from their habitat or nest. Unlike other ant species that leave a chemical trail, black ants produce a crackling noise that can be herd from near by nest. Colonies of black ants can be up to the thousands, although the black ant does not sting, it can produce a sharp bite, and inject formic acid which can become very irritated and painful if bitten.
I nature they prefer dead trees or rotten wood for nest. Which actually has an environmental benefit. However if they migrate into your house and infest your wooden structures, they can compromise the integrity of your house's foundation, which could lead to a disaster.
The ants are attracted to moisture, so eliminating structures around your property will help keep them away from your house. Some precautions may include fire wood, straw bales, hay bales, wooden barns, and even dead or deaden trees will help keep them at a distance. Also keeping gutters and drains cleaned out will help reduce your chances of a infestations.
