As Trees Neither Cry nor Complain
It is poem of prayers, dedicated to the pregnant women for safe delivery during their parturition.
1. Sat I down under
The shadow of one
Of the trees in
My father’s garden relaxing
As breeze blows gently
2. South wind must have
Increased its speed, this
Affects the speed of
The wind blowin’ in
The garden where I am
3. Though the speed has
Changed but neither stormy
Nor too much for
My flesh as I
Be sited under the tree
4. Branches of this tree
Were shaken, though nay
Vigorously, as the branches
Move to and fro
Perching birds fly in ‘joyment
5. Soon leaves, old ones
Started fallen off the
Branches of the tree
Under which I sat
As I enjoy’d breeze
6. About two fell on
My body. Then my
Mind connected with a
Female friend who is
Heavily heavy with pregn’cy
7. Started I to use
The incident to commune
With God who formed
Heav’n and Earth that
As He makes it
8. Easy for trees to
Shed old leaves from
Their branches without complaining,
Neither grumbling nor crying,
He ‘ld make it easier for
9. My friend and even
Other pregnant women too
Whose pregnancies are old
And ripe to put to
Bed with minimal pain
10. Pains, doubts, agitations, fears,
Anticipations, uncertainties shrouded this
Period in women’s lives
And lives of associates
11. Parturition period is period
When women are half
Alive half dead for
The associated pains but
Trees don’t ‘xperience this
12. Since nothing be impossible
With God, its my
Earnest prayer, wishes and
Hopes that pregnant women
Put to bed safely.
