Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) -Sometimes I Can't Stay Still-In A Poem
I Can't Sit Still!
It's Hard For Me
©2012 LaDena Campbell aka justateacher
Sometimes I can’t sit still
I can’t focus on what I have to do
My mind runs a mile a minute
It looks like I’m not listening to you
I try to listen to what you say
I want to do my work
I’m glad that you give me a chance
Last year’s teacher thought I was a jerk
My mom doesn’t want me to take medicine
She’s afraid that it might make me sick
She says I have to learn how to deal with it
I’m glad you are teaching me tricks
I like it when you give space
A taped square around my chair
You let me move all around
As long as I stay in there
I like how you made me a rocking chair
By covering the legs with tennis balls
Last year my teacher made me feel little
This year you make me feel so tall
I like coming into your classroom
I do everything that you ask
You are more than a teacher
You are a woman with so much class!
