Autumnal Leaves. A Sonnet, to Rasma Raisters (Gypsy Rose Lee)

An Autumnal Poem to Rasma
Now falling ‘pon the breeze my garments lay,
I waltz on dew-clad hill-tops as I sway.
Dance through the pines; create my sweet array,
Then drift, blue skies caress this Autumn’s day.
Now on this cool, dark mistiness I lie,
No one I see to hear my lovelorn cry.
Upon a dawn which gently stroke my eye,
On verdant flora lying down I sigh.
But hark! White-tailed deers, squirrels; foxes play,
Bring magic moments; joy around my way.
A golden hue; the fawns are merry; gay,
My gosh! Tis great! I’ll have much fun today!
And now at dusk, I sing a merry tune,
Then view the stars around the crescent moon.
