Autumn's First Touch
i have no thought
other than observing
wind chimes tinkle
as wind picks up, biting porch
nipping shutters
poised in relentless readiness
they sound an A
on wind’s new chill
the rain will start soon
teapot whistles
an A
as i settle upon tea
i want something big and bold
as i am sleepy
but sleep pulls corners of eyes down
toward a dreamless nap
awaiting the first breath of autumn
upon forehead
a loving caress
