BEACH DAY

The wonder of a beach day~

Is in the air~

You can see the amazing sights every where!

I love all the colors people bring to the beach~

The bright yellows, pinks, blues and greens~

From stripes to polka-dots can be seen!

The smell of suntan oil is intoxicating~

The sand is hot~

Yet “oh!” how refreshing and soothing is the water~

To my feet as it hits the spot!

There is a mother with her arm swaying~

As she makes giant bubbles to chase~

For excitement and delight of the children playing.

The barbecue aromas~

Get the juices flowing~

As grills with hot coals are burning.

There are children fishing~

Swooping at fish and butterflies with big nets~

While other little children with buckets~

Catch silver minnows at best.

There are people setting in their canoes~

While others already are sailing in the~

Water greenish blue.

The life guards are on alert~

As they comb the roped off water area’s girth~

Once in a while you’ll hear the bullhorn bellow~

To curb too much jumping~

Urging on the far dock swimmers to be mellow.

Iwatch the sunbathers reading~

While youngsters play Frisbee or catch the ball~

As mothers dote on toddlers wading~

All is a treasured peace filled scene as I am gazing.

Oh! What a day it is~

With the sun beating down~

As a light breeze blows~

While waves do rhythmically roll.

In the shade under the tall pines~

Sit elders many keeping cool~

While children swing their hearts out on a giant swing set~

Everyone is doing as they please~

Just having awesome fun at this day at the beach.
