A Birthday Poem for Barbara
We call her Barb for she works real hard,
Being the best and fighting the odds,
To give up and walk out on the exhausting day to day relay,
She’s got the willpower to stay - even with her hot flashes on the way (ha ha).
Toby and Trace are on the top of her list,
Of favorite hunky, country stars, and she’ll reminisce,
Of her first country show back when she was small,
Seeing Dolly Parton at a little theatre one fall.
Well a hick yeah she is, but her interests go on,
She bowls and she bikes and bakes with the grandkids,
She’s a fun gal to be around and a gambling woman too – layin’ down them bids!
Just playing Barb, I’m not sure if this line is true,
But hey, I’m doing my best here, I’m not one to “woo”.
She’s got a passion for owls and pretty little nick-knacks,
This lady has got a good deal of wits, will rarely hold back.
She likes Dirty Dancing with that fine Patrick Swayze,
Thinkin’ about him now – I’m feelin’ kinda hazy...
Co-worker B is very encouraging to me,
She’s got a genuine interest in my writing, and begs to stay notified,
She’s always on her game, she plays by the rules and will generally abide,
All the chaos of our daily workplace,
She lends many a helping hand to ease with the daily demands,
Of the irritating customers who need to lighten up,
She knows how to deal – she’s had her cup,
Of Joe and cake with Coconut laced,
She’s so thoughtful she shares her birthday cake that Rose aced ;)
She’s got a younger sister who can be a pain in the bleep,
Tanya don’t be mad, (I hope I’m not in deep).
Some say Barb is the good sister, out of the two,
Sister rivalry, oh - what will we do?
Pour another glass of something delish
That’ll make Barb’s birthday one not to miss!!
Happy Birthday Baba!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
