Back in The Beautiful Forest Again.(But why am I barefoot.?)

Updated on February 5, 2015

Alone but Happy.

So I find myself in this place again,

The Beautiful Forest,

Barefoot and alone.,

Again.

It´s a place I love------ peace again,

Knowing not WHY I am barefoot,

But happy to be alone,

Again.

I hear a rustling to my left and turn,

A Deer..... A beautiful stag,

No need to fear me.

Wildlife.

Wildlife is wonderful...... I´m in your domain,

You allow me to walk here,

I respect your home,

I am alone.

A squirrel crosses my path---- so fast,

I barely am sure what it is...,

Yes, a squirrel,

Also alone,

Running home,

Climbing his tree,

Running from me,

No need to fear me,

I´m in your domain,

Not mine.

I look to the sky, the trees aiming high,

As though they are wanting to touch it,

Beautiful sky,

Clever trees----- giving us oxygen

We so need,

To breathe,

In our world.----- In our domain.

So happy I´m here, although barefoot

Again.

Very beautiful poem. It makes me miss Germany a little bit. There was a forrest I always walked through, it was so peaceful.

Hi Genna...! I love your thought of bare feet being closer, with no separation from the earh.

Thank you so much for commenting.

Genna is right, your bare soles feel the nature underneath thus connecting you more to the wonder around and about. Perhaps it is our domain too after all, we've just lost touch somewhere down the line. But here, you've placed us back in touch with the beauty of Mother Nature.

I think being barefoot brings us closer to earth; there is no separation, so to speak. I loved this poem, as I love nature. The beautiful photo is just as compelling as your words. Nicely done, Dim. :-)

...funny you mention this 'poetic' dream , I was barefoot too in my dream and it was so poetic because I was chasing 'you' ---- I can't remember if we were bare from the ankle up though - lol lol - but a guy can always dream can't he - lol lol

Your words are so enchanting but then again look at the lovely lady they come from ...

Sending you warm wishes and good thoughts from lake erie time ontario canada 9:39pm with a nice cuppa tea and some shortbread

Beautiful. There's nothing more relaxing than a walk through the forest and spotting a few friendly animals. Too bad you forgot your shoes.
