Ballerina Laces

Updated on October 21, 2012
Source

Frosted pink satin

She laces up

For the last time

Criss cross in zig zag

White chiffon

She is ready for her finale

The time has come

She is ready for her fate

To descend upon

She sweetly smiles

As she takes her last glance

In her mirror of dreams

Everything comes to an end

Just like her dance

Life has spoken to her

Wisdom in silence

From the beyond

As the sunlight streaks

Through the window

The angel beckons

The violin whisper

Slowly plays

She lets out her last sigh

Embracing all the beauty

She can rest now

She is finally home

At peace

.....well Caroline - two things are working for me here because I simply adore the (classical) ballet. (I have all of my life) I also adore your writing style - you have the true heart of a poet.

Thank you for this poetic subject.

Sending you warm wishes and good energy from lake erie canada 1:49pm and yes your words remind me of the great painter Edgar Degas and his ballet paintings

i love your style caroline! clean, seemingly straight forward poetry with a deeper meaning - or 2..

it's almost as if the reader can interpret it to coincide with their own personal experiences..

for instance - i was a high level gymnast - and/or - my cousin just had surgery for level 4 colon/liver cancer...

      many levels..

      sharing on...xx

Beautiful lines of a finality, of a dance, or of a life perhaps. But beautiful in its poetry!
