What do you say?

Hero, Who Me?

'Hero', you are thinking, 'me?' 'Are you kidding?'

Like it or not you are a hero everyday in your lifetime especially if you have taken it upon yourself to devote a part of your day to help someone who needs it.

Fact, people need your help.

Fact, you need people's help.

Realise now that it is your time to act and help. Help the people who need it and who ask for it first and foremost. For once put the other person first. I know we are all busy with our jam packed work lives. We are racked in stress, rushing around trying to earn a living. Trying to keep our head above water just to survive the daily rat race.

In our pursuit for survival we forget that our purpose should be to HELP our fellow men.

Top 10 Guide to Being A Hero.

  1. Read the signs when someone needs your help.
  2. Be the first to offer your help.
  3. Consider the other person first.
  4. Do so without question.
  5. Never judge.
  6. Never question why help is needed.
  7. Be a good listener.
  8. Offer help unconditionally.
  9. Be supportive always.
  10. Never ridicule a cry for help and never crush dreams of others.

What is the definition of HERO?

The Collins English dictionary definition of hero is;-

a person, typically a man, who is admired for their courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities

Nice thought, but I would be more likely to use a less stuffy definition like this ;-

Someone who is prepared to help others before helping himself.

If you relate hero to sporting heroes then at this present time for me would be Andy Murray after his heroic final appearance at Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

Be A Hero For Your Family.

You owe it to your dependants, family, to be that hero. They want to see you moving on in life and will be your biggest cheerleaders even if you sometimes go in the wrong direction. It is all about following your gut instinct and taking opportunities when they arise. Hub Pages to me is just that opportunity. Don't let it drift by without first giving your 100% effort.

Let them see that you are learning and share with them your achievements. Get them on your side and they will back you all the way. You spend a lot of time around Hub Pages so let your loved ones know how much this means to you. Tell them that you are doing it first of all for them and that it is a long term strategy.

If you get loved ones on your side there will be less chance of you quitting when things get tough. Believe me there will be conflict at times with your nearest and dearest about the amount of time you spend writing. Be honest with them and make it clear that they won't see instant results. Believe 100% that you are doing the right thing and that step by step you will grow with your Hub pages business as you chase that ultimate prize.

Hub Pages Is Full Of Heroes.

Look around in your own groups. There are heroes all around you. I doubt that you will not find someone who can't help in some way when you require it.

The more that people see that you are helping others, then they will become prepared, in turn, to help you.

Maybe there is scope for a Facebook group to be born?

Hub Page Heroes.

Let me know what you think.

'People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care'.

Never Quit.

'Winners never quit and quitters never win' My best piece of advice for writing on Hub pages and indeed for any other activity in life whether it be work, rest or play.

Once you get past a certain point you must never quit. I have done this so many times in my life and I now realise that I may have quit doing something just before it was about to happen for me. How do I know this?

I know this because of the stage I am now at.

I urge you to find your purpose. Come on guys, you know by now what I mean by 'find your purpose'

If you know me you will be well aware that my mission is 'to help as many people as I can to become successful', that way my success will be more likely to happen.

Sounds so simple that it is almost too simple. Powerful isn't it? It is a law of the universe in my mind and is related to Karma.

Fortune Favours The Brave

How true is this quote 'Fortune Favours The Brave'

If it is a fortune you seek then unfortunately you have got to be brave. Brave to keep going when all seems to be lost. Every adversity you come up against has got to be overcome if you want to see the amazing view from the top of the mountain.

Vision is the key to your success. Anyone in this world who has had a vision has been successful and has overcome great odds and personal adversity.

People like Winston Churchill Abraham Lincoln the list could go on.

Hub Page Heroes Wanted.

Hub Pages needs heroes. Your followers need a hero. Is that going to be you I wonder?

Be the hero in your group today, Help your fellow Hubbers and be on the WINNING TEAM

Voted up and awesome. Inspirational and motivational heroes are always needed and you're right there are quite a lot with hero material on HubPages. Maybe a group wouldn't be a bad idea. Helping each other along and encouraging every step of the way if also great. Passing this on to my followers.

We're all heroes to someone, sometime. Hub Page Heroes, there are tons of them here and the more you read the more you realize that. Everyday new ones show up.

Your guide to being a hero was excellent as was the entire hub, as well as pointing out 'Vision is the key to your success'.

Voted up, awesome and interesting. You constantly inspire all of us!

Everyone needs their "hero" sometime. Whether it is helping someone change a flat tire or helping a "shorty" like me, reach for a jar on the top shelf of the grocery store. Sometimes a hero can just be a listener for someone that has a problem, or helping someone with a question here on HubPages. What a wonderful world this would be if we tried to be someone's hero at least once a day! Voted up and awesome!

I am glad you found this article to your taste. What a powerful force the world would be with everyone pulling the same way. At least we can change our immediate surroundings and affect the life of those who choose to follow our lead eh!

as per usual you are spot on. There isn't a day goes by without people needing our help or we needing their help. We just don't always see the signs and take action. Thanks.

BTW Andy Murray is still a young man and will be back stronger than ever.

    Ms Calhoun,

You know I think you are right about being onto something with the Inspirational Niche. As I said in my hub that Eureka moment it just hit me like a train and the old light bulb flashed. The majority of my hubs will probably focus on this area, with a few googlies thrown in from time to time.

    Thanks for pointing this out.

    Great minds think alike obviously.

For that you can be my HERO after Ardie!

We can all be heroes, indeed, Steve. And I"m all for the group! Very good reminder for us not

to take our ordinary heroes for granted, as we so sadly do all the time. All my votes on this one, and you're a hero in writing it. Sharing.

Excellent Hub Steve =) I think we all should aim to be a hero every single day. If we all try to do something good, just one thing, each day for someone else just imagine how much more positive the world would be.

Another wonderful article here Steve. I totally agree that there are quite a few heros on Hubpages here and have met a few to date. Also, a little off topic, but when I first started reading this, I thought of my 3 year old daughter, who is going through an independent phase right. She tells me everyday at least 20 times, "I do it all by myself!". My response to her is usually, "Sometimes that will work, but sometimes you need to accept that you need help.". Pretty straight forward, but couldn't help but think of this while reading your article. Voted up and shared too.

I like your idea about creating a HubPages Heroes group. If your create the group on Facebook, I'll be an admin in the group and help you run it properly.
