Before the rising sun

Updated on September 27, 2012

Confusion is a natural
Emotion of the dark
where logic wagers war on truth
Between the head and heart

The truth is what you feel
Logic the reason why
Your head want to protect you
Your heart wants you to fly

Your head looks to the future
The heart into your soul
Three entities inside you
All three have different goals

So when the battles over
When truth and reasons one
You'll know your true direction
Stood before the rising sun

This is beautifully written about the struggle within. It puts me in the mind of Khalil Gibran's piece on the struggle between passion and reason. Well done, I enjoyed it.

Short and sweet. Sort of like mind over matter or heart in this case.

      Violet Flame,

Thank you so much for commenting, and yes the same for me more often than not I should have followed my instincts rather than logic, but it seems easier to forgive your heart than your logic when it goes wrong :)

short and sweet and straight to the point! I have lost count how many times I mislead myself with my head whilst I should have listened to my intuition. I wouldn't say it's my heart as that heart sometimes is clouded by wishful thinking. One day the battle will be won and I look forwards to it. Great Poem! xoxo
