Birds That Never Land, Stories that Don't End
Aloft she hovers on words he utters
Alone he watched as words break free
Castles forming, valleys greening
Rivers flowing, clouds as he
Speaks of beauty beyond comparing
Wonders glimpsed at edge of sight
Moons waning, stars weaving
Stagehands rolling out the night
Her hands trembling, darkness falling
Her heart creates inside her mind
He inviting, she receiving
Rising up the dance unwinds
And she thinks of midnight waiting
He enraptured, her mouth, her face
Heedless of the schemes they're weaving
She has chosen love's embrace
Ticker tape of stardust falling
Heaven's music keeping time
The story of their love in lyrics
Both composing, lost in rhyme
Even as they draw the curtain
As the silent crowds arise
Even when applause is thunder
Each is lost in the other's eyes
