Bitter Sweet Poetry: That Chilly Day In November

Updated on June 7, 2013

Remember down by the docks
We sat and watched the rippling waves
Reflect the moonlight like tiny diamonds

It was a chilly day in November
We held each other close
Keeping each other warm
A more perfect night
I could never have imagined

Remember that kiss
One of a hundred we would share
But more memorable than any other
Because it was the first dream
That ever came true for me

I looked into your eyes
You looked in mine
And I knew right then
Words could never express
The love we had for each other

We've gone our separate ways since then
Made other happy memories
But as I listen to this song
I can't help but think
About that chilly day in November
The two of us shared

Aw, so beautiful and nostalgic. Bittersweet feelings and memories. :)

Great poem on past love moments. I also go down memory lane from time to time when I hear a certain song. I usually savor those moments, but quickly come back to the present moment and express gratitude for the moment I'm living right now.

Romeo, I'm well passed the phase of longing for the past. I'm at the point in my life where I can enjoy these single moments for what they are.

Never lose hope of this being able to happen to you again (but minus the heartache)PHILLYDREAMER.It does, because it happened to me,and can be even better the second time round.

Aw, memories like that often can't be repeated. Beautiful, but sad.

memories are often a doubled edged sword, me thinks!

How many things can make you laugh AND cry - both at the same time?

      it's an amazing thing!

      Great poetry, my friend..

      sharing on..

I wrote the poem to this song, so I thought it would be a nice touch. LOL
