Bittersweet Poetry: All of Me

Updated on September 23, 2014

Remember when I used to have all of you,
and you used to have all of me.
Remember when we both loved each other,
without doubt and completely.

I miss those yesterdays,
before we decided to go our separate ways.
Now, there's not a price I wouldn't pay,
just to simply hear you say,

"All of me loves all of you."

I used to be your king
and you, my beautiful queen.
We were so close,
there wasn't room for anything else in between.

The sight of you,
used to drive me passionately insane.
Now the memory of your face,
causes me nothing but pain,

because, all of you doesn't love all of me.

I will cry for those days,
When our paths walked together
I will cry for your perfect imperfections
I vowed to love forever

I miss you today,
More than I missed you yesterday
I wish there was some way,
I could once more hear you say.

"All of me loves all of you."

What a beautiful poem. So poignant and it has a rhythm to match. I like the one liner that changes, then reverts to the original. Clever.

It's sad when what seemed to be perfect love goes bad and the memories are painful. Sometimes it gets better, sometimes not, but I guess we have to move on.

      Lovely.
