Bittersweet Poetry: Hoping for a Brighter Tomorrow
My heart is on fire
You were the spark that set it ablaze
Now I'm a natural disaster wreaking havoc on the world
Because I can't go back to ordinary mundane days
I can't bury my head in the sand
And ignore the brilliant colors all around
I can't tune out the beautiful music I hear
And live in a world without sound
I can't go back, I won't go back
I absolutely unequivocally refuse
You can't ask me to live only half a life
After showing me everything I never knew I had to lose
So if you want to walk away
I can't stop you
I'm not a jailor, my love is not a cage
If I can't be the next chapter of your story
Then I'll settle for being a page
I'll live in a world without you
And accept you as today's painful sorrow
Holding on to the beautiful memories we made yesterday
And hoping some how, some way
Life brings a brighter tomorrow
