Blistery misery

Updated on December 25, 2010

 Much more to fall

hours of white cold

frozen white matter

mind and soul

remnants of past hurdles

buried under past woes

misery might love company

too far to walk although

mending heart and meltdown

covered by atmosphere

  and now by the snow

The Arizona heat and mild winters are good for what ails you. I'll not ask, as you'd have told had it been my business. I thought today was Christmas but hey, no clock no calender and no attention to those things is what makes life good. 50

Mia, leukemia is such a scary word, it has so many varieties and the no known cause thing has to be frustrating. In my life I have known 2 people with it and both are in California and in remission, one was 14 when he got his diagnosis and they gave him not long and the Make a Wish Foundation came and gave him his wish, a bedroom of his own and I shaved my head of a 15 inch ponytail and they made him hair and kept it long and braided for him. A year later he went into a negative test result and they had no reason why it just seemed to fade away. I told him God did it for him and those he loved who had prayed continuously for him. I don't know if your a believer in such things but I'm adding you to my prayers right away, Peace and Blessings, Dusty

That means so much to me......thankyou for the prayers, I am a strong believer and witness in/for God. God has shown me so much within this world and a bit on the other side as well.

At the moment I am in a new hotel and left my home (2nd time in 4 years) and belongings, due to mold that entered my dishwasher via disposal pipes and planning on staying here a month or so until I can attempt again to travel so far. Please say that prayer for my family as well...they realize they may never see me again once I get to Arizona.

You cutting your hair for this young boy is very touching to me, I just knew when i saw your pic ..that you are def someones angel. God bless you Dusty......

My thoughts and prayers are with you as well!

Mia, when I saw the title of your piece I thought "Oh, no, not shingles". I have an autoimmune disease and have suffered through shingles twice. I'm glad your poem was the blistering cold instead. Despite your difficult health circumstance, your beauty shines. I am sorry to hear your difficulties are further complicated by having to relocate. I know that feeling physically depleted makes everything more daunting. I will be thinking positive thoughts for you and hope that you have respite and remission in your near future. Your writing shows your spirit and both are beautiful.
