Bonded Souls

Updated on January 14, 2012

We are kindred spirits

From up and beyond

Souls that are bonded

Into one

As everyday I look into your eyes

I know that you are true to me

In our union there are no lies

We are forces of nature

Fire

Lightening

Rain

Cannot compare

To our entangled spirit

From up above

Our love is solid

A rock of fire

Carved deep

Into my heart's desire

We are tied together

Piece by piece

Bonded forever

Never to release

In gentle harmony

Swan lovers entwined infinitely

We will always stick together

At peace and content

To the end

We'll die together

This is a poem about soul mates and true love. Swans are known to mate for life. When one dies, the other stays alone for the rest of it's life.

wow...such sweet poems, and it reminds of Tantric or divine love...only few can attain this but an everlasting bliss for those who found it...

Another beautiful poem, Caroline, and such wonderful pictures to illustrate. I knew swans mated for life, but I "didn't" know they would stay alone after a mate died. I've been alone now going on 15 years, and I no longer like it (if I ever did) but still...? By the way, you once mentioned I should do a hub about my experiences. I did do a whole book, but it's already online, so the parts I tried to put in a hub got red-lined. The title is "Dying to LIve"

I've filled my life with writing and gardening, but still...?

Oh, Caroline, what a lovely poem--having lost a true soulmate (2d time worked), it brought some terrific memories to mind, and the pictures were perfect. We used to go feed swans where we lived. I may just go on to bed on this one for some sweet dreams! Thanks so much for writing for beautifully and sharing.

carolinemd21, Swans are the ultimate symbol of eternal love, and rightly so, with their elegance and beauty. I love the heart which they form so gracefully when they are beak to beak. Beautiful, elegant photos which convey the beautiful symmetry of a pair of swans. Did you take them? Each image differs in the play of light on water.

Your poem tells well of eternal love!

Soul mates, pure love, everlasting bond. It's so beautiful, Caroline! I have watched how swans move together as mates and they are really stunning creatures stuck to love and in love. Cheers! Sharing it too.
