Are Always Present
To live and appreciate the people around us is easy
Listening to them tell their life story
Realizing it is much your story as theirs
You have known each other for years
Following the same footsteps is not uncommon
Respecting each others feelings
Helping and understanding when times are rough
Seeing both pull through at our darkest hour
No one has to know
A secret we may keep hidden for years
When someone is sick or hurt we feel it so deep
We can no longer hold back the tears
Wondering why life turns out this way ?
Are we all chess pieces ready to be played ?
Each piece has certain places it can go
With a whole board to cover
Moving slowly thinking and planning our best strategy
Trying to be as smart and sensible
Constantly tapping into our unique talents
Practicing what we have learned in our lives
Passing on our own traditions
Family values that we can count on
Seeing so many children being born
Changing our lives is so many ways
We are blessed
When our life comes to an end
We do not have the last say
Unpredictable even though we try to control the outcome
Realizing one of the greatest gifts we have ever been given
Is being part of something so great
Part of a family that makes life so full
Keeping us on our toes
Not all the years of work compare
Even the wonderful things you have enjoyed with endless memories have no place
When it comes right down to it
Loving you one more time
With a great big hug followed with endless smiles
You could of never of known your infuence and all the happiness you have brought
Scared so much to see you go
Holding on you have made so many people happy
Hearing you are sitting up and talking
Is such great news
A very close call between life and death
Makes us all wonder about our own mortality
Carefully hidden in our thoughts and actions
As the sun shines after a heavy rain
I take this time to thank my Aunt Ann
For sharing with me
Each time we have talked in the past
Waiting patiently till you come home from the hospital
So we can continue where we left off
A day that might be filled with chores,cooking and folding laundry and some t.v.
Another day like normal
Still finding ways to recap the funniest moments
Living another day
Knowing how special that is
When we were so close but not ready
To leave this world and now have time to do more things
That make you happier than ever
