Breath of Life

Updated on May 9, 2012
carolinemd21 profile image

I am an artist, designer, photographer and writer. See more of my work on cmariearts.

The weathered storm

Left nothing here

Drowned everything away

You are left alone

By yourself

Needing help

Lifeless you lay there

I am here to save you

Giving you

Breath of Life

Making you feel again

You

My little angel

Will be alright

You are not gone yet

You just need love

To be strong again

I will take care of the hurt

I will take care of the pain

The shaking will disappear

You are my angel

I will save you

From here

I will smile

When you can fly again

Up into the clouds you will go

The majestic sun beating down on

Your beautiful soul

You will be so happy

Crying with tears of joy

Every part of you will heal

You will be you once again

      C21,

Being someone stuc the literal part of reality this piece is about a bird that was knocked out of the sky by the storm. Or is it a veiled metaphor for a freind with a broken heart??

Hmmmm, I wonder- sometimes it takes a few readings or 5 to finally (maybe) get it...

I can imagine so many things here, broken, shattered, helpless, which need just one healing touch. Wonderfully written as always Caroline.

Nice poem. Makes me think about one Egyptian myth. Fighting against her husband's brother, Seth, who killed Osiris, and cut him into pieces that he threw in the valley of the Nile river, Queen Isis collected the body of Osiris, made a mummy out of it and blew life in his nostrils thus resurrecting him. As if this was not enough, she turned herself into a female falcon, spread her wings out on the immobile body, pronounced a magic spell and got pregnant...

I'm pretty picky about the hubs I read and I'm not a big fan of poetry...having said all that I read every new poem you post so you should know that I think you are very good.
