Bubble Gum Without A Flavor
Without a flavor
In your mouth
And no face of shame
Roof and tongue
Too thin and stringy
And no heart of lion
Peeking delightfully through a keyhole
And no pangs of conscience
When the cries from those grief stricken souls
Of families that lost loved ones that were dumped into holes, shrieking the universe
No need now to come riding in such hurry a broom
In such force to blow the deflated balloon at podiums
Your bubble gum
will not clamp lips, and seal.
Use tongue to push it out
And not to maneuver it
It is bruised
Bitten by your bittersweet breath
Of shewing and regurgitating
The same old cracked mark.
And no steps seriously taken
to save a baby from a despotic giant fist
or a hand reached out to wipe an old man's tears.
as well as euphonious words
filled the air
with its fragrance.
A fig leaf to cover the moral obscenity
What for standing in the midday sun
As a spineless cactus and
As a marionette with cut strings
Waiting the approval of the clown car of a three ring circus ?
Bias to kids,
Eat spinach pie with them,
And cuff your long sleeve shirt to elbow
Time to save a face and time to die in dignity.
Seagulls already sent above hovering the Mediteranean shores
waiting Shock and Awe,give cue!
Distant sirens mocking the torpidity of your iron gigantic giants, give an order!
and the camels pissing all days and nights at the feet of Arab VIPs with Zero around their heads, give a spank!
Executions in thousands occurred
Multicolor lines have been crossed
Dusty roads empty
Throbbing cities silenced
This ancient place
Once so green and lively
Disconnected from its course
In history by Bashar Al Assad.
Act now solely
Spit out the bubble gum
And blow fire like a dragon instead
Peace will never prevail
by dismantling Syria’s stockpile of chemical weapons.
