Buried Treasures
XXIV.
Having never really loved before
I never knew till now
That love's an aging process.
Since then I've aged
Mere lifetimes
And remembered things forgot
A hundred other years ago.
I hope that this lifetime's
Long enough
For us to meet again.
If not, I will await next time.

Nirvana,
Satori,
Paradise.
Heaven,
Bliss, ~
Whatever name it's given.
I find in your embrace,
I see it in your eyes
and the smile upon your face.
it's my undoing
My delight
Every time it is beheld;
I'm spellbound -
Seventy-times-seven!

Interlude
That child
Who smiled
So knowingly,
So wisely,
Beguiled my heart
From time
With melodies
Of life.
And he became
My soul-son.
And he became
That man
Who filled my soul.

To feel the kinship stirred,
And to express,
Respond
To its mutual passion's voice,
Heard only heart to heart;
But never to possess
Or hold
In tenacious, jealous grip
What only IS, if felt
And shared ~
Such love averred
Most fully,
Tenderly dwelling there
Between the lovers,
Lets each one grow,
Allowed to come and go
At will,
To return again
By choice each time,
To still express
Most eloquently
Its joy
Without a single word.

Subtle
Suggestion
Passes too soon,
And flies
Right over my head.
Though it
Returns too soon
To haunt me.

Did I hear
A kitten
At my door?
Was it
A cat
I've known
Before?
Perhaps it was!

Barely come
But done ~
So briefly.
It was - and is
Now vanished
Back into the ether
From whence
It came.
Yet still - it WAS!
It left its light
Within my
Lightened heart!

Inner light,
Unquenchable,
Glows and variegates
Into beautiful free patterns
Upon the screen of life.
