Apart from burton items, the corporation also deals with other products such as goggles and helmets to diversify their markets. Over the years the company has managed to purchase various snowboard brands and also acts as a surfing distributor.
- History
Jake burton the founder of burton snowboards, was motivated by another product which he modified accordingly to become what it is today. He started his operations in Vermont in his workshop where he made the snowboards by hand due to lack of equipment back then and sold them to local resorts and the public. The products gained fame in snowboarding championships which were later permitted as a sports event where snowboarding was practiced, and with that, he was able to market the brand overseas and thereby opening distribution stores in some nations around the world.
- Marketing and promotion
The company through its marketing department managed to promote professional events and riders to attract interest in their products. Through their learning program established, they have been able to offer beginner classes of their equipment to learners hence boosting their market strength.
- Technology
As the business broadened its market, the need for new ideas and technology became essential. A new binding system was introduced which offered more control and comfortability to the riders.
