Buy My Love

Updated on March 29, 2015

Buy my love with empty pockets and a dusty wallet.

Show me your riches, but not by shopping.

I don’t like diamonds.

I like kisses and jokes,

a man with ambition in his soul,

hard, rough love,

and a smile pretty as a dove.

Buy my love with empty pockets and a vacant wallet.

Give me a flower you pulled from the ground,

with an odd amount of petals.

When I’m alone,

I know you’re never too far.

Cause when I pull those petals off,

I want to end with “he loves me”

never “he loves me, not”.

Impress me with your luxuries.

Make my heart float

and introduce a new song to me.

You’ve never been one to cook,

but you’ll pull out a recipe

and follow the steps for me.

Loyalty is everything.

Can you show me what I’m worth?

Show me how valuable you are.

Talk to me through your heart, not your mouth.

Come to me as a whole

cause I’ve come to you complete.

I’d never make you compete,

as long as you throw your wallet out the window

and buy my love from me.

I’m a complicated woman,

who craves simplicity.

Simplify my life.

Live To Write 5 years ago from Phoenix, Az.

I don't get to read , or even write as much on here as I would like to lately; because of the business of life. So quite honestly I randomly go through sometimes and visit the works of some of the writers whom I had previously enjoyed, and if they are particularly good to me... I randomly pick out any of their work.

How very blessed I feel to have came across this one... a lot of poetry(including mine) on here is "beautifully simple" ,rarely is something "simply, beautiful". This poem is one of those rarest of gems.

      Keep on writing ...

I love the way this poem flows, and I am also no materialist, and so I sense such a thing in your poem here stems from a genuine source of love, and needing to be loved in a true way. Awesome job!

Voted up and out! oh and thanks for the follow, I'm try to read more of your hubs and precious poems if time permits, and when ever I can play catch up as we all do from time to time here. Welcome to hubpages Ryem.

People tend to forget about those nonsuperfical things in life that you cannot buy. Thanks for commenting Mhatter. I'm glad you could see where I was coming from!

LOL. I can't throw my wallet out the window it has all my ID inside. I like the part about the flower with odd number of petals. I totally knew where you were going with that before I read the rest of the poem.
