Collecting Modern Age Comic Books As an Investment ( Part Two )

A couple of months i wrote an article on what modern comic books are worth buying as an investment, this hub is a companion article that will bring things up to date. The original article is found below.

In the previous hub i named a handful of comic books that were raising in value and which i believed would continue to do so. Some of these books are now achieving much greater prices just six weeks on.

This epic space opera written by Brian.K.Vaughn with artwork by Fiona Staples continues to steadily rise in value, the book is a great read and is very popular with comic book fans. The number one issue of this book is now commanding prices in the £60 / $90 range, if you can afford one buy it now, if not the number two and three issues are now beginning to rise and are worth investing in.

This brilliant noir comic puts a new twist on the zombie genre, it is still available for around £10 /$15 on eBay. The book has a loyal fan base and there are rumors here and there of a film in the making.

With a Fox Television series on the horizon Robert Kirkman's ( The Walking Dead ) thriller just keeps steadily rising in value.

This is probably the hottest comic book around at the moment, based on the story of Peter Pan and set during the Second World War there is a BBC television production of the series in the making, number one issues are now reaching around £144 / $200, the number eight issue looks worth investing in, being the first appearance of Kapitan Haken ( Captain Hook ).

Matt Kindts book has now been picked up by 20th Century Fox with a movie in the pipeline, some big names have been linked to the project including Ridley Scott as producer, this book is a must buy at the moment, buy it now before it reaches silly prices.

Manhattan Projects has a loyal readership and its prices remain steady. A recently released series Nowhere Men is now being sold on eBay for around eight times its cover price, too early yet to say whether this is just a flash in the pan but it is certainly a book to keep an eye on. The variant copies of Amazing Spider-man # 700 just keep on increasing and do not look like stopping yet. My tip for this month though is a book called The Massive, certainly worth a nibble as it is still available at around cover price.
