Cabin By The Sea...A Poem
The child stood still watching
As the waters grew still
Ignoring his mother’s frantic calling
As he absorbed his first kill
Staring at his father's coffin
He held his mother’s hand
He had slayed the villain
Easier than he had planned
The water never stopped whispering
Invading his dreams every night
Its soft voice ever coaxing
Thoughts of more, meant to excite
But soon they moved away
Far from the cabin by the sea
And the horrible events of that day
His mother finally content and free
The teenage boy glared
As the water started to churn
The eyes of his tormenter finally scared
As it started to boil then burn
The pool was closed down
To fish out the body
The gruesome death scaring the town
Never a tale so bloody
The cabin by the sea called
With promises of laughter
The voices in his head promised
A happy ever after
Standing in the sand
He watched as the rapist drowned
Her fingers slipping into his hand
His forever now bound
The darkness started to creep in
A son on the way and a new wife
His power corrupted as he begin to sin
To support his new way of life
More and more had to die
Murder replacing justice
His heart ignoring the sea's cry
His mind too mad to notice
Addicted to the thrill
His family lived in fear
Watching in horror as he lived to kill
Forgetting everything he once held dear
Standing in the sand
He watched the villain die
Ignoring his dad desperate hand
He refused to let himself cry
The whispers filled his mind
As the young boy stood watching
Reassuring him, the voice kind
His dad finally disappearing
Returning to the cabin by the sea
The child started to play
He and his mum were finally free
All because of what the sea had to say...
