Cadaver Alive
Cadaver Alive
Laying on this cold metal table was not what I had in mind
But now the moments of death started to rewind
I remember having a drink with my wife whom I loved dearly
Then fell to the ground feeling dizzy and heart pounding weirdly
I watched as the medics came and pronounced my death
Then I saw her smile with him and he gently kissed her neck
Now here I am, my faith is a Cadaver
Medical students surround my corpse, with scalpel, rib shears and bone saw
I watched as they sliced through my dark flesh like steak at a diner
Plunging deep into my body and extracting my lungs and my liver
I saw my beautiful body mutilated, rocking from side to side
As they cut and sliced and took out all that was inside
Then I heard someone say, “Let us take out the eyes and examine them”
As each cut they made, it was like my soul in pain, again and again
I heard the saw whining and it was time for my skull cap to go
As they plucked out my eyes and my brain removed slow
I cringed and trembled in my soul
I flew over and looked at my body and could not believe
Once I was a living known man, now today I am a piece of meat
I stunk up the room with my rotting flesh
Then they zipped me up and tossed back into the morgue what was left
Only if I had known, maybe I would have lived life a little better
Who knew I would end up as a Cadaver
