Break the RUSTY CAGE & Run - Thks Brian!

Written 12/13/2012

There she is, Lying cold and alone
The moon reflecting off of her skin
As she shines from within
Not aware of how desperately I would like to come in

So close, yet not close enough to touch
Just a stone's throw
Just out of my reach
& I wonder if loving someone I can't have
has some kind of lesson to teach

She lies there, needing
Too tired to rise
With no earthly clue
Of the love in my eyes
Needing a hero
Needing my love & my caress
Needing my strength
& the warmth of my breath

I sit here wanting to give these things to her
I sit, trapped in silence, her faithful caged bird
A slave to the choices I made long ago
A slave to the life which refuses to let me go

Perched in the window, pained by my view
I watch loneliness grip her, intending to tare her in two
Here stuck by the window I sit
The worst is there is nothing that I can do

She's unaware that she has never been alone
She's unaware that she has melted that which once was stone
She doesn't know that before her, I just didn't care
Or that I awake daily to thoughts of being with her over there

The worst for me has yet to come

Her unique charm calls out to the rare
Those who can see her heart & begin to care
Caged in my window, I'll be forced to stare
As others attempt to heal her, win her, and take my spot there

I envy the free, who next to her would sit
It drives me insane and I can't bear it
Because tho I am trapped here, my heart is with her in all her glory
& that seems to be the only ending to this, my sad story

It is so nice to see you again nighthag. I am happy that you enjoyed my story. I like to play with the pictures, so that compliment is special to me. I treat my page like a mini art gallery, trying to put a picture that will tell a bit about the tale since I don't like to use the summary...

      Thank You.

I love everything about this one, starting with the picture and ending with the potent helplessness of being trapped far from everything you want... simply great

Hello Brian. You spend a lot of time on me today! I'm flattered. Yes people need to break, break their rusty cageeee....& run! I love the deep tones of Cash's voice and prefer his tempo to soundgarden's. Awesome tune. Thanks for sending me to search for it. I love that you can see what I paint so clearly. It is very satisfying.

What an all too familiar pain this kind of love can be. I love how you paint out these emotional situations. In the words of soundgarden(though I prefer the Johnny Cash version), -Break that rusty cage and run!

      Another awesome poem Moms

I would take someone's real essence over the forced nicety as long as it is pure and not evil... I feed off of what is true and genuine after all.

Always love hearing from you Frank. I think this is the first one I have done in the voice of a man. I am trying to understand something a friend is going thru. I hope that you will always enjoy me.

Can't wait to hear what you have to say about the one I put out yesterday.
