end

stillness seeps

creviced luminesscence

harbors tinged hearts

in long-enduring cages

bonded, and not

prismatic tinsel of time

tendered by bill paying spouses (partners)

who sit with melancholy keys

unready to unlock

doors of warbled wire

end

stillness seeps

"unready to unlock"...how many people are in relationships where complacency and, as you stated "melancholy", prevent them from reaching out in love to their partners? That is such an impacting statement; very good choice of words, Audrey! Just a little effort extended could change a relationship for the better. Great hub; voted "Up and "Awesome"!

Oh Audrey - this brilliant poem opened so many doors for me. I now see how some people in my life have kept me "caged." Or, more to the truth, how I have allowed myself to be caged. Your writing always leaves me enlightened. I love it! You are such a beautiful person. Thank you and voted up and more!

Life it seems can be all about cages at times. Like a trapped bird, not set free to fly is very sad indeed. I know of a few woman in my time who were trapped by power, control hungry husbands or partners.

Money in this case was the glue that bound her to his side. Sad very sad indeed. You chose a wonderful bouquet of fine words to describe Cages, masterfully compiled my poetic friend. Voted UP, awesome and beautiful, however if there was an UGLY button for being caged I would click on it to.

Holy crap, I didn't know you were such a great poet, thanks for giving my hub a cool insightful message as well.

I will be scanning more of your hubs in due time, I love this poem, its a prison breaker of sorts if read through & through.

I read between the lines in everything as those who encode their writings, and that's why I love poetry so much. Its much more than just writing to me, I feel is a chamber channel to the soul. Awesome stuff!!!

We live in the world of cages. If we manage to break one, another will apprehend us.
