Can you love your enemy?

Updated on May 13, 2014

Can You Love Your Enemy?

You thought I was talking about someone other than yourself

But, Do you know you can be your worst enemy

How many times has fear and procrastination kept you from your Dreams?

How many times has self said, your are too old, it is too late, there isn't enough time

There isn't enough money?

I bet you can't count the times when opportunity passed you by because you wasn't prepared

You procrastinated yourself right out of promotion

My Enemy , Myself

I must learn to love the enemy inside of me , because it is a part of me,

And I am totally against self-hatred

I must learn to speak to the me that works against me and say

I am brave, I am not afraid, nothing ventured nothing gained

I must subdue the me that keeps me bound and fruitless at times

I must treat the me with care and stroke its head and tell it don't be afraid

God has my back

There is nothing I cannot accomplish without faith

Then the enemy within myself has to step down and give up

And I won my enemy over with love and encouragement

But can you love your enemy?

Good morning, "Honorablewoman" This is good prose on this subject and it is well done. Of course it will entail realizing that we are our own enemy and not making the enemy of our faith more than he is. We have enemies within us that we must be willing to subdue by turning to God. Psalm 25 counsels how we can start by yielding our souls to God. Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day" (Psalm 25:1 and 3). Voted up! Have a blessed day!

Well-said, Honorablewoman. We are our own worst enemy and our best friend. Voted up.
