Change Is In The Air...Rhyming Verse
Change is in the air
My bones feel the chill as I sit and stare
Into the gray, drab lifeless sky
Where the Ravens no longer fly
Only the wind communicates by howling a sad tune
As I watch the sunset and the rising moon
The Hummingbird feeder cleaned and stored away
To sit dormant until the tiny birds return on a warm, sunny day
My House Finches are gathered around their feeder, I wonder if they miss the Hummingbirds as much as I do?
Squiggley ( My pet Squirrel ) is piling up pecans in the damp evening dew
The abandoned birdhouse is swinging wildly in the wind, awaiting to house babies once again
It provided a safe haven, and will come alive in the early Spring
Chirping babies, Mama singing her sweet melody refrain
My neighbor's cat uninterested in chasing my bird's today
I guess he's missing the warm sun's ray
I guess I'll just turn on Otis Redding and pretend I'm soaking up the warm sun while sitting " On The Dock Of The Bay "
